To serve others with love, to care when no one’s watching, to trust God in everything, and to live in a way that honors Him.
The call came in, and Florsito Trazo Saren was the only nurse on the ambulance. A serious accident, a patient who needed help immediately, and no one else to share the clinical decisions. With 12 years in nursing, the nurse from Mauswagon, La Libertad, Zamboanga del Norte, now serves as a Nurse and Ambulance Nurse at Amiri Guard Sports Club Sharjah, and that moment remains one of the clearest tests of his career.
Alone on the ambulance
Florsito assessed the patient quickly, made rapid decisions and started emergency treatment, all while coordinating with the other responders on scene. He stayed calm and trusted his training, communicating clearly with the receiving hospital so the patient’s care could continue without a gap.
A calm smile that reassures
Florsito hopes to be remembered as a happy, smiling and dependable nurse: positive, supportive, calm under pressure, and someone who treats every patient with kindness, dignity and respect.
“A calm attitude and a reassuring smile can help patients and families feel safe.”
The Filipino touch
The values he brings to every shift are rooted in home: respect, patience, humility and compassion. Paired with a positive attitude and a comforting smile, they shape how he connects with patients and colleagues alike.
Shaped by Philippine training
His upbringing taught him discipline, resilience and hard work. Rigorous nursing training followed, and preparing for the board exam built his confidence, his critical thinking and his ability to perform under pressure, qualities he now relies on in emergency care.
Calm leadership in a crisis
When a crisis unfolds, Florsito’s approach is to stay calm, assess, prioritize and follow protocols, using resources where they will have the greatest impact. Clear communication, respect and teamwork hold everything together.
“Leadership is not only about making decisions. It is also about supporting the team, staying composed, and ensuring that every action is focused on delivering safe and compassionate care.”
“Working away from home can be challenging, especially when we miss our families and face the pressures of daily life. I encourage my fellow Filipinos to take time to rest, pray, and trust that God sees their sacrifices and knows their struggles.
Through Christ, we can find renewed strength, peace, and purpose.”
