What we are fixing in Set 2:

In this set, we will focus on understanding questions better, solving math step by step, reading carefully, and learning from mistakes before the final exam.

If you feel tired: Pause for a short while. Drink water. Stretch your hands. Then come back and answer one more question.
If you feel worried: Take a deep breath and remind yourself: β€œI can do hard things one step at a time.”

Set 2 Lesson Review

This set focuses more on understanding. The lessons below explain what the question is really asking and how you can think through the answer step by step.

English: Parts of Speech and Sentences

  • Noun names a person, place, animal, or thing.
  • Verb shows an action.
  • Adjective describes a noun.
  • A complete sentence has a subject and a complete idea.
Example: The tall girl reads quietly.
girl = noun, reads = verb, tall = adjective.
Think like this: Ask yourself, β€œIs this naming something? Is this showing action? Is this describing something?” That will help you choose the correct answer.

Reading: Main Idea and Details

  • The main idea is what the passage is mostly about.
  • Details are small facts that help support the main idea.
  • Some questions ask for facts. Some ask what the whole passage means.
Tip: If the question asks β€œWhat is this passage mostly about?” it is asking for the main idea.
Think like this: β€œAm I looking for one small fact, or am I looking for what the whole story is about?”

Math: Operations and Word Problems

  • Add when things join together.
  • Subtract when some are taken away.
  • Multiply when equal groups are repeated.
  • Divide when sharing equally.
Word problem trick: Ask: What happened? Did we join, take away, repeat groups, or share?
Think like this: Circle the numbers. Read the story. Then ask: β€œWhat should I do first?”

Math: Place Value and Fractions

  • In a 3-digit number, places are hundreds, tens, ones.
  • Example: In 472, the 7 means 70.
  • 1/2 means one of two equal parts.
  • 1/4 means one of four equal parts.
Remember: 1/2 is bigger than 1/4 because the whole is split into fewer pieces.
Think like this: Look at the place of the number. Is it in the ones, tens, or hundreds place?

Science: Living Things and Matter

  • Living things grow and need food, water, and air.
  • Plants need sunlight, water, and air.
  • Solid keeps shape, liquid flows, gas spreads out.
Examples: Rock = solid, water = liquid, air = gas.
Think like this: Ask, β€œDoes it grow? Does it move? Does it need food, water, or air?”

Filipino and Social Studies

  • Pangngalan = pangalan ng tao, hayop, bagay, o lugar.
  • Pandiwa = kilos o galaw.
  • Pang-uri = salitang naglalarawan.
  • Sa Araling Panlipunan, tandaan ang pamilya, komunidad, at mga alituntunin.
Tandaan: Ang mabuting mamamayan ay tumutulong, gumagalang, at sumusunod sa mga alituntunin.
Think like this: Basahin muna nang mabuti. Hanapin kung ang salita ay pangalan, kilos, o paglalarawan.
