#FIStaff: Sunshine Estrada, Dean of Virtual International Diploma
For 15 years or almost half of her life, Sunshine ‘Shine’ Estrada has been working and living in the UAE. Joining the educational institution’s administrative department as the Dean of Virtual International Diploma, Shine is one of the latest additions to the team.
Having a positive attitude towards everything defines her. She is the person who chooses how to see things–which is seeing the good side.
Equipped with finance and HR skills from her previous jobs in the UAE, Shine’s work in the Filipino Institute includes troubleshooting complicated matters.
“There are so many wonderful things about working in Filipino Institute. My favorite part is I have a great degree of control and freedom within my job. I work full-time on a flexible schedule, both in and out-of-office. I work hard to maintain that level of trust, which keeps me engaged and excited, but at the same time, I love that my job enables me to love and enjoy my other passions in life,” she said.
Shine, apart from actively responding to inquiries regarding the services being offered by the school, is also teaching various short-term and diploma courses, including digital marketing, among others.
“In my long-term plan, I would like to become an expert in my position and learn more about this industry. I want to focus on understanding the industry as a whole so that I can advance to a management level position,” she added.
