Dubai—The Filipino Institute (FI) is now an official registration center of the British Council for the IELTS test. The signing ceremony held on Wednesday, September 18, affirms and strengthens our long-term partnership.

The contract, signed by the President and founder of the Filipino Institute, Mr. Gabriel John Rimando and Mr. Deep Adhikari, the Director for Examinations – Gulf South, of the British Council allows both parties to provide access to information and services related to IELTS more conveniently for Filipino Institute students.

Mr. Rimando is optimistic that the partnership is essential in bridging communities. “If we work together, the more we can accomplish,” he said.

The event was also graced by the Labor Attaché of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Dubai Atty. Felicitas Bay who said that such partnership is essential in improving the quality of lives of Filipinos.

“This will help us, Filipinos, not only with our personal improvement. I know you all intend to do something somewhere, and this will help you a lot in your immigration,” said Atty. Bay.

Mr. Adhikari acknowledged the commitment of the British Council and that of FI in assisting members of the Filipino community in the realization of their dreams and aspirations.

“Filipinos here in the UAE will gain access to various resources with the British council on English, education, and on wide range of skills,” said Adhikari.

Present during the signing ceremony were other representatives from the British Council including Mr. Abhishek Chandan, Head of Business Development (Dubai); Mr. Abdullah Jalal, Account Relationship Manager (Dubai), Ms. Karen Rangel, Account Relationship Manager (Abu Dhabi); and Ms. Sayira Banu, Account Relationship Manager. The agreement recognises Filipino Institute to be an IELTS registration centre of the British Council; giving out information to potential candidates about the IELTS test, its admission, and available IELTS testing dates. The British Council is set to conduct a training seminar next week to equip the deans and trainers of FI.
